Under My Thumb (Serenade #1)(23)
Author: Abby Reynolds

Her hands moved down my stomach. She trailed over the grooves then touched the hair at the very bottom. My cock remained untouched and I was disappointed.

Seeing the awe and desire in her eyes made all those hours at the gym worth it. I worked hard and watched what I ate for that very reason. But seeing the approval in her eyes made it even better. I wanted to be every fantasy she ever had.

She leaned in and pressed a light kiss over my heart. That’s when I realized the rendezvous wasn’t just sexual. It was meaningful to her in some way. And I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. But I did feel like more than just a piece of manmeat. For the first time, I felt real. Like she could really see me.

Prudence pulled away then pressed her forehead to mine. Our faces were close to each other, but she didn’t kiss me. This was a first for me.

“Do you have an instrument?”

Wait. What? Did I hear her right? “Sorry?”

“Do you have an instrument?” she repeated.

I was caught off guard, feeling awkward and out of whack. My usual façade of confidence disappeared. “Umm…there’s a piano in the parlor.”

“I have to write about this.” She stood up then left me there.

Chapter Thirteen

Prudence Clearwater

I grabbed a notepad lying around then placed it on the grand piano. I was surprised he had a piano since he wasn’t a musician. Actually, I hadn’t asked him. Maybe he was.

My fingers found the keys then played the harmony I wanted. There was no rhythm or rhyme to my methods. When I felt something particularly emotional or important, I had to write about it. It was the only way I could make sense of things.

After I finished the first line, I wrote my music onto the pad then continued to the next verse. The curves and lines of his perfect body made me feel things that were foreign. The connection was there, unlike anything I ever felt. It wasn’t there when Isaac and I were together. But I didn’t know what it meant. Maybe it didn’t mean anything at all. And that’s what made it beautiful. It reassured me this was the right path I should take. There was nothing wrong with being in an arrangement with someone that was meant to end. It made you live in the moment, treasure and appreciate the time, and then let it go. And I liked it that way.

Cash came into the room, fully clothed, and then leaned against the wall in the doorway. He watched me and kept his silence. His presence didn’t bother me. I pretended he wasn’t there, just like any other concert.

After I finished the sheet music and the lyrics, I folded the page and stuck it in my bra. Cash came behind me then rested his hands on my shoulders.

“Moments of inspiration come at unexpected times.”

I smiled then looked up at him. “I’m sorry I got you excited for nothing.”

He returned my smirk. “I’ll get excited again. Don’t worry about it.”

I rested my hands on his then leaned into him.

“And what was that song about?”

“A very handsome man.”

“I like what I’m hearing.”

“Maybe I’ll play it for you sometime.”

“I’d like to hear the whole thing eventually.”

“If you’re good.” I removed my hands then stood from the bench. “Why do you have a piano?”

He eyed it. “I thought it looked nice.”

“But it feels brand new. Never used.”

“I’ve never played it.”

“So you’re a fan of music but don’t play it?”

“You could say that,” he said calmly. He looked at his watch. “Would you like me to take you home?”

Hell no. I wanted to get back to where we were. “Not really.”

His eyes lightened. “What would you like to do?”

“You haven’t showed me your bedroom.” I knew what my words implied. But I wanted to imply them.

His eyes widened for an instant then returned to normal. Cash tried to hide his excitement, but it was a failed attempt. I knew he wanted me. I felt his erection anytime we were together. And that guy always had a hard-on. But that made me feel attractive, which I didn’t feel very often. And after seeing him naked, feeling that connection, I didn’t have any hesitation about what we were doing. Nothing felt that right when it was wrong.

“Come with me.” He grabbed my hand and led me to the foyer. The grand stairway led to the second floor. A white banister opened in two directions. Bedrooms were on either side. I couldn’t believe how loaded this guy was. Now I started to doubt his profession. But would he lie about that?

When we entered his room, I stared at the dark wooden furniture. His comforter was gray and his pillows were black. The room was covered in masculine colors. There was no doubt a man slept there every night. Outside his glass doors was another patio. “I can’t believe you wake up to this every morning.”

“I can’t believe it either.” He stood in front of me, his hands in his pockets.

The awkwardness set in when I realized what we were about to do. But I knew I wanted to. After seeing his large cock, I wanted it inside me. To feel that fullness. And I knew our chemistry would make the sex explosive. My clitoris throbbed just thinking about it.

He studied my face. “Are you sure you want to do this?” His voice carried a slight concern.

I was surprised he asked me that. When a guy wanted to get laid, he said as little as possible.

“Do you?”

He stepped closer to me, his intent very clear. “Since the moment I saw you.”

I looked at his chin, seeing the faint stubble covering his face. My hand automatically touched it, feeling the ruggedness. He didn’t flinch under my touch. His eyes were glued to mine. Then he grabbed my hand and kissed my knuckles gently, the same way I kissed him. But after that, he changed.

His hand gripped my lower back then pulled me to his chest. His mouth was on mine as he guided me to the bed. While caressing my mouth with his, he laid me down and moved on top of me. His mattress was soft and his sheets were cool against my skin.

My legs automatically separated and wrapped around his waist. My desire came forth and I grabbed his face, deepening my kiss. His lips were soft and delicious. I could kiss this man all day. All night.

I grabbed the hem of his shirt and yanked it off. When his bare chest was in view, I ran my fingers up and down. His skin was burning hot, and I was excited to lick the sweat away later. Then my hands unbuttoned his jeans and got them off. Once he was in his boxers, I felt his erection against my thigh. It pulsed gently, eager to be inside me. God, I couldn’t wait for that.
