The Care and Feeding of an Alpha Male (Bluebonnet #2)(77)
Author: Jessica Clare

“I’m here, baby,” he said softly, and she felt his fingers reach between them, felt his thumb go to her clit. Felt it rock against her flesh when his c**k surged inside her again. Her moans of pleasure became cries of ecstasy, and moments later, she was falling, the orgasm splintering through her body. He continued to rub her clit as he stroked into her body, and she gasped and moaned with every motion, feeling another orgasm speeding through her, feeling it build through her body. Then he stiffened. His thumb twitched against her clit as he came, his body jerking with release, her name a mere breath on his lips.

She grasped his fingers and held them to her clit, using his hand to rub until she came a second time as well, her pu**y clenching around him.

When breath returned a few moments later, he leaned over her and began to kiss her face tenderly. “We’re going to need a better bed than this.”

She smiled sleepily, lazily dragging her fingers over his shoulders. So broad and tight. “Maybe in a few months, when I can afford it again.”

He kissed her neck. “I think you should move in with me.”

“Only if I pay half the rent.”

“Deal,” he said instantly. “I’m sure no one would think you’re the kind of girl to move in with a guy like me,” he said, sliding onto the narrow bed with her and tugging her close.

She turned toward him and wrapped her arms around his neck, her face so close to his that their noses were almost touching. “I’ve decided I don’t care what anyone in town thinks.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

“Well, maybe,” she said, a thought coming to her that she liked very much. “You know what I think, though? I think that no one would expect you and I to stay together.”

“They wouldn’t,” he drawled, and pressed another firm kiss to her mouth.

“They wouldn’t think we’re the type to run off to Vegas and get married, either,” she ventured.

He stilled on the bed next to her. Stared at her.

She bit her lip. “Too soon?”

He slowly shook his head, then leaned in and kissed her hard, again, and then again, as if he couldn’t believe she was in his arms and he needed to keep kissing her to remind himself. “I was just wondering,” he drawled, “how you’re going to pay for your half of the airfare.”

She laughed.

He kissed her even more fiercely. “You want to get married?” he asked. “Really?”

She nodded. “But only if you want to.”

“Fuck yes, I do,” he said, his hands tight on her body. “But are you sure? You and Allan—”

“We’re done.”

“No, I mean…you never married Allan? You were together nine years…”

She shook her head. “And you want to know what’s different now?” She ran a finger down his chest, then moved back up to tug on his dog tags. “He never asked. I was too stupid to figure out that he was just dangling the carrot. We only got engaged after he cheated on me the first time.” She shrugged. “So I guess I never married him because I felt that we couldn’t get to that point in our relationship.”

“And you’re there with me?” he asked, his voice thick.

She nodded. “What we have is totally different than what I had with Allan. I know the difference now. And I know that I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you.” She ran her hands down his slippery back, and gave a light shrug. “But if you’re not sure—”

“I’m sure,” he said, and kissed her hard again. “But I must insist on making the cake.”

“Deal,” she said, and smiled into his eyes.
